Encouraged by the Department of Mathematics, J.J. Strossmayer University of Osijek, Mathematical Club has been established which gathers former and present students, professors and associates, as well as friends of the Department of Mathematics, J.J. Strossmayer University of Osijek, with a view to exchanging information between Club members. The aim of this Club is to renew old and establish new contacts as well as to raise the level of recognizing the need as to retaining dignity of the profession and raise interest in it. Basic data and professional records as well as progress reports on every Club member will be kept and updated at the Department. A special page within the journal Osječka matematička škola will be dedicated to the Club itself, offering news from the Club (i.e. list of Club members, data referring to new Club members, information with respect to recent job changes, etc.), news from the field of mathematics, mathematics teaching and application, that might be interesting to Club members, letters with remarks and suggestions from Club members (referring to studying at the Department of Mathematics, problems at work, functioning of the education system, etc). Club members Forum has recently been opened at the Department of Mathematics web site for the purpose of faster and more efficient proliferation of information among Club members. Every Club member will receive journals Osječka matematička škola and Mathematical Communications at a rather low price and will be informed regularly about lectures delivered at the Mathematical Colloquium as well as about other gatherings organized by the Department of Mathematics. Club membership is free of charge. A web-based membership application form or the one at the Student Administration Office is to be filled out. Due to updating purposes, a Club member is only required to provide information about changes on a regular basis.
